Ben Spevack - Program Director
Ben is a junior at Tufts majoring in international relations. He began studying Russian in high school and since coming to Tufts has expanded his studies to include the geopolitics and cultures of the post-Soviet states, concentrating in the Caucasus and Central Asia. He also studies Chinese, and studied at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou in the fall of 2013. At Tufts Ben is also involved in the Russian and Slavic Students Association, China-US Symposium, ALLIES and Tufts Emergency Medical Services.
Sam Ruben - Co-Director
Sam is a junior at Tufts majoring in International Relations, with a concentration in International Security. His interest in security studies began in his sophomore year, focusing on the Middle East. He then became interested in the post-Soviet states, especially counterterrorism and identity issues in Chechnya and Dagestan. At Tufts, Sam is actively involved in ALLIES. In his free time, he enjoys skiing and has been involved with both the Tufts Ski Team and the Ski and Snowboard Club.
Sean Gunn - Logistics Coordinator
Sean is a double major in International Relations, concentrating in International Security, and Chinese Language. He was born in Morristown, New Jersey, but grew up in Thousand Oaks, California. At Tufts, Sean is also involved in the China US Symposium and ALLIES, and swam for Tufts during his freshman year as well as this year. After graduation, Sean intends to volunteer for military service, and eventually plans to return to school to pursue a graduate degree.
Emma Daniels - Public Relations Coordinator
Emma Daniels is a junior at Tufts University majoring in Music and Political Science. She studied abroad in St. Petersburg in Fall 2013, focusing on Political Science and Russian Language. She is currently Co-President of Tufts Russian and Slavic Student Association, coordinating activities including the annual Russian music festival, which this year featured guest performers from Tbilisi State Conservatory.
